Human Rights through Art

Human Rights Through Art is a weekly series exploring how arts can express dissent and resistance towards the dominant power, and how artists and artistic movements can contribute to fuelling change and shaping a better society.

Every week, starting from a human rights-related term, we will pick a few stories, both individual and collective in which art represents a main tool used to assert and claim that very right.

We will both dig into the past to bring a historical perspective and take inspiration from the present to maintain a contemporary gaze. We hope that the posts will spark debates and generate reflections on the respect of human rights and the role played by arts in advancing them.

Stay tuned!
